Ketel One Vodka - © S&C Graham Foto Design

The project for this afternoon at the studio was to shoot a vodka set. It just so happens that we had a bottle of Ketel One hanging around and have access to some antique drink and glass ware via our generous business neighbor. That set the stage for this product shot that Shannon designed, which follows the image the company is currently portraying: clean, manly, dark, sophisticated.

There are more images from this shoot which feature the vodka chiller set, we just need to process them. This one had priority so I could add it to the 10 Popular Premium Vodkas article that I wrote last night on About.com.

Maker's 46 Bourbon Whiskey - © S&C Graham Foto Design

A bottle of Maker’s 46 bourbon came in last week for my review on About.com. While it was in the studio Shannon took on the self-assignment of using the beautiful bottle for a couple of product shots for the new portfolio that we are currently developing. These are the results of yesterday afternoon’s shoot.

The bourbon itself is amazing and everything I would expect from Maker’s Mark. Bill Samuels Jr. and Kevin Smith have produced a wonderful new addition to the distillery after 50+ years of only producing that bourbon we all know and love. You can read more of my thoughts from before this bottle arrived and what makes Maker’s 46 different here.

This is a image from my new folio now being constructed. Obituary is the name of this cocktail. Yup could of done the manipulating in computer,(but digital was used for final clean up only) I decided to do it old school style. I used a projector, B/W slide ,multiple offset hanging screens and gels for the background. The drink its self is another 2 exposures (3 exposures all together) 1 exposure for flat lighting,and one exposure using the painting with light technique.The drink also sits on a slightly reflective material to reflect the glass as well as the background.
